Comedy Bang! Bang! on IFC returns with all new episodes. This week we have Rainn Wilson, Andy Daly, and a bunch of awesome comedy people like Eva Anderson, Katie Dippold, Fran Gillespie, John Ennis, Allyn Rachel and Tim Kalpakis.
ALSO, the greatest sketch comedy group on the planet, The Birthday Boys are premiering their own show featuring Bob Odenkirk! These guys give me headaches from laughing so hard, and I rewatch their videos the same way I do my favorite Mr. Show and The State sketches.
HOW CAN I POSSIBLY CATCH BOTH THESE GREAT SHOWS? Well, I made some calls and worked some magic and I got IFC to air these two awesome shows back to back. So if you tune in at 10 o’clock on IFC, you can literally laugh for an hour straight (the commercial breaks will give you time to calm down and grab a soda or use the restroom).
So IFC: 10 and 10:30 Literally the funniest stuff on television.
"Not everyone knows that Bob Odenkirk is a genius, which is why it’s a little weird his is the big name attached to this new sketch show starring Upright Citizens Brigade regulars. This one is a bit less Portlandia, a bit more Kids in the Hall. The pilot features a gang of thugs who go to buy eggs, shaving cream and toilet paper so that they can … cook eggs, shave and hit the head. The title of a homemade, ’90s-MTV-style video about their offbeat exploits? “Christian Mischief.” More, please."
Adweek’s Picks for the Best Fall Shows Across the Whole Media Spectrum. The Birthday Boys is #3.
We were too young when The State and Kids in the Hall were on. We didn’t appreciate Mr. Show until it was on DVD. But we have The Birthday Boys now and we BETTER ALL WATCH IT because it is the next dot on the line of sketch comedy that includes Monty Python, SCTV, and all your other favorites. And if you watch it while it’s on, you help it stay on the air longer!
